Pioneer Projects Undertaken

Operation Commitment Project: With the support of the European Union this project was implemented across the country for intensifying an Effective Advocacy, spreading Mental Health Education, facilitating the rehabilitation and main-streaming of the persons with mental illness through Clubhouse programme & operating Psychiatric Clinic in the shrines where the persons with mental illness in the name of faith healing.

Operation Oasis Projects: With the support of the National Human Rights Commission of India this project was launched with an aim to identify the persons with mental illness from amongst the residents of Prison/Custodial Homes and to bring them under the purview of Psychiatric Treatment and Rehabilitation. According to the findings of this project considerable number of mental patients have still been languishing in different prisons / custodial homes acrooss the country.

NHRC supported Pilot Project for highlighting the living condition of the Mental Patients languishing in a shrine of M.P.

Operation Dignity Project: This project was generously supported by the Irish Aid (New Delhi). It aimed to spreading Mental Health Education among the Police Officers, Personnel of the Prisons and Custodian Homes, Social Activities Activities and NGO Personnel working across the country. The other salient objective of this project was to promote the Human Rights of the person with mental illness.

National Commission for Women supported study: Through this study the basic needs for the community based rehabitation for the women with mental illness was assessed.
